Valentine's Cards!

So I said before that February is a special month for my guy and I. We have our 3 year anniversary on the February 2 and of course Valentine's day is the 14th. I thought why not just make it a full two weeks of love? Starting Feb. 1st my love will be getting a present each day until Valentines day! Well..it's also my sweet baby girl's first Valentine's! I'm super excited to celebrate with both of my lovebugs so I decided to make a card for her daddy from Paisley!

These are a few of my absolute favorites from her mini shoot :)  I know that her daddy will treasure these forever. <3

(For the heart I just used the free Picasa editing software to write all of the different sayings. )

Jars Jars Jars!!

Aren't they adorable? I love them! My super sweet fiance took me to World Market-my absolute favorite store ever :D-the other day to look around and I saw these super cute tiny little jars. At $4 for a set of 4 I absolutely had to have them. I knew that they were exactly what I needed in my crafting corner.

So what did I do with them?

Don't you just love them? I haven't put anything in the other two jars yet because I got a little busy with my baby girl but I'll be posting them soon!

Where did the time go?

Yesterday my beautiful baby girl turned 9 months old! I can't even believe it! So we just moved into a new house and I've been decorating and being slightly sentimental about Paisley, and I found this in one of the boxes I unpacked!
I made this when she was about 3 months old. It was pretty simple to do, I just bought a shadowbox on sale at Hobby Lobby and put scrapbook paper on the back. Then I hot glued all of her hospital stuff in there. Her preemie onesie she came home in,the socks her aunt bought her,the little bow she wore home, and her hospital bracelet. I love having it hang on the wall beside her hospital picture.
This is Paisley at 3 months old with her coming home outfit! I love my little princess!

Refashioning Onesies!

When I found out I was pregnant with my sweet little girl I was given clothes from everyone that had a baby recently..some of them ended up being little boy onesies and I decided to hold onto them because I had a friend who was having a baby at the same time. Well we all ended up having girls so what was I supposed to do with these onesies? Well I needed to girly them up!
The first one I started with was a brown and white striped onesie that was pretty cute just not very girly. So I grabbed some brown polka dot ribbon and headed off to the sewing machine.

*warning: I don't know how to sew the "right" way..I kinda make it up as I go and hope it works*

So I made sure that the first ruffle was along the butt, right about where the leg holes start on the onesie. Then I started sewing, just a normal straight stitch. Every so often I would just hold the onesie in place while keeping my foot on the pedal so that the ribbon would gather. I sewed over the ends the ribbon and then went back over the top completely so that there were no more gaps. Then I sewed one more 1/4 inch under the top of the first. Super easy and only took me about 20 minutes!

What do you think?

Stuffed Pork Chops!

I'm not a big meat fan but my sweet hubby loves his steaks, pork chops, and everything else. So I thought I'd give pork chops a try...and I am so glad I did! They were so good I actually would eat them again!

So here it is!
Stuffed Pork Chops:
1 tsp butter
4 pieces of potato bread (you could use whatever bread you like but this was amazing!)
1/2 tsp of chopped basil
3 sticks of celery diced
2 c of chicken broth
6 pork chops (boneless works best)

Start by putting the butter and celery in a large skillet on high. You'll sauté this until the celery starts to be transparent. Once it's ready you'll put the chicken broth in and let it simmer until it's reduced by half. While you're waiting on that you'll want to toast your bread and chop it into 1/4 inch pieces. When the broth mixture has reduced, toss the breadcrumbs and basil in and turn off the heat. Now for the pork chops. This mixture made enough for about 6-7 pork chops. Spoon about a tbsp of stuffing on each pork chop and fold it over. Stick them in the oven on 325 for an hour and voila! I served them with popovers and they were gone in about 30 minutes!
As an added bonus, the stuffing was perfect for the princess. She loves it and it's healthy so..I am definitely serving this one up happily :)

Mirror mirror on the wall....

I repainted this thrift store find today to go in the Princess' room. It didn't take much time and she absolutely loves to look in it and give "the other baby" kisses :)

Post Holiday Blues

Well it's officially over. Christmas has come and gone and it was amazing :) New Years Eve and my 2 year engagement anniversary to the love of my life have also come and gone. Now I'm feeling a little blue with no great holidays around the corner so of course I've jumped ahead to Valentines Day and my 3 year dating anniversary! This is the only anniversary we actually celebrate, our engagement we sort of acknowledge with a glass of sparkling cider and a kiss. This year I want to do something a little different I think since our anniversary is Feb 2 and valentines is so close. So I'm thinking 12 days of romantic fun for my amazing guy ;) So I will be posting on that in a few days!
